Tom is the former President, CEO and Chairman of the Oreck
Corporation, a leading manufacturer of vacuum cleaners and other
home appliances made in America and sold worldwide.
Tom is a graduate of Lawrence University and of the
Owner/President management program at the Harvard Business
School. He has been in
the appliance and consumer products industry for over 35 years.
Mr. Oreck serves on the Board of Directors of Cutco Corporation,
the Board of Trustees of Isidore Newman School, University
School of Nashville, Nashville Children’s Theatre and the
Nashville Chamber of Commerce.
Mr. Oreck was formerly a member of the Board of Directors
of the Bureau of Governmental Research, the Make a Wish
Foundation, a former member of the Committee of 100 for Economic
Development, and the former Vice Chair of the Business Council
of New Orleans and the River Region.
